Update : LORE Beta 0.3 : Schemers
Update : Lore Beta 0.3 : Schemers
What is available in this release?
Get started
0.3 is a pretty big update. It is also the point where people who pledged at the Daring Fox level will get access to the Software. 0.3 will be released for Beta testers first, then, after checking if everything seems stable enough, we’ll send Early Access keys.
The Runes system
Runes are possibly the biggest feature in 0.3, and they will be a cornerstone of future updates.
When creating a template, you can now create rune blocks, which are new blocks distinct from Text and Image blocks. These rune blocks contain runes, which are currently available in two flavors, text and drop-down.
By adding rune blocks, you can create things like this:
You can even reuse these blocks in different templates.
As per the usual Lore design philosophy, these can be modified in the template, which in turn will retroactively affect all your pages. The system is made for this use case, and changing the name of a rune or adding a new option to a drop-down rune will not result in losing the data in your pages.
This is, as a consequence, more robust than the current solution most users seemed to implement, and which required inserting a premade paragraph in a text block. On top of this, we are planning more rune types for the future (such as one made for receiving a tag), and we wish future search tools to be able to filter out results based on runes, which would be very powerful indeed.
In the meantime, you are free to create your own rune blocks, runes and drop-down options as you wish.
To start off, just add a new Rune block:
Then add as many runes as you wish. You can see a preview on the right.
You can then reuse these settings in a new Rune block using the Insertion tab.
We’re very happy with implementing runes into Lore. We strongly believe them to be one of the strongest features we have planned, and we hope you’ll agree!
Tagging and World page
As we did in Tome, we have improved the tagging significantly, and improved the landing page.
Tags now have icons that correspond to the main category:
This will be improved further when we allow for more customization of templates in this regard. In the meantime, this puts Lore in line with Tome, and improves the UI significantly.
The landing page of Lore has also been improved.
